Blockchain gaming franchise Illuvium revealed a collaboration this week with Casio’s G-Shock watch brand to release a collection of NFT cards. This collection will be used in the Illuvium Beyond card collection game.
Illuvium Beyond is not to be confused with the other three illuvium games that launched this year. This is branded as a collectible card game with a leaderboard that tracks the points value of the top 100 players’ collection of cards, and is available to play on the Illuvium site.
This G-Shock collaboration comes as part of the third wave of NFT cards released for Illuvium Beyond. It features six characters (called Illuvitars) from the game “reimagined” wearing G-Shock gear. Mystic monkey character Aapon, for example, has been strapped with body armor that looks like what you’d expect from the line of watches.
Each G-Shock Illuvitar will have one of three backgrounds, and will be available both as holographic and non-holographic digital cards. This creates 108 possible variations.
The collection is set to go on sale from December 9-22, purchasable in the form of a $35 “D1SK” NFT—pronounced disk. If anyone buys 20 or more D1SKs, then they will be rewarded with an exclusive Illuvium G-Shock physical watch.
Following first word of a crossover back in July, the popular manga and anime series "Attack on Titan" has expanded into Ethereum metaverse gaming platform The Sandbox with a new game called Attack on Titan: Invasion.
Attack on Titan: Invasion lets players become soldiers defending the Trost District against Titan attacks, working alongside characters like Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman, and Armin Arlert from the source material. Players must complete training and successfully resist multiple inva...
More details regarding the collection are set to be revealed on December 5.
Illuvium Beyond launched in 2023, and unlike the other games in the franchise, it’s more of a collection-based affair than a fully-fledged game. It’s all about how many NFT cards you obtain, how rare they are, and how much you can fill up your virtual booklets.
Previously, Illuvium Beyond has collaborated with the likes of video game retailer GameStop and esports organization Team Liquid to release branded cards.
When this collecting experience first launched, the core Illuvium games hadn’t been released. But earlier this year, the long-awaited games hit the (digital) shelves. Built on Ethereum scaling network Immutable X, the three titles—Illuvium: Overworld, Arena, and Zero—tackled distinctly different genres that complemented each other in subtle ways.
The developer of the Illuvium blockchain gaming franchise released three interconnected sci-fi fantasy games onto the Epic Games Store on Thursday. After a series of betas, Illuvium is branding this as the “official game launch,” following a play-to-airdrop campaign.
Built on Ethereum scaling network Immutable X, the three titles—Illuvium: Overworld, Arena, and Zero—span distinctly different genres but feed into each other, and the developer encourages players to get immersed within all three ga...
For example, open-world survival game Illuvium: Overworld requires the gamer to gather resources to repair their spaceship. In Overworld, you can also capture the mythical creatures called Illuvials, which you can then use in strategic auto-battler Illuvium: Arena.
In the final game, the city-builder Illuvium: Zero, your goal is to develop land and the civilization upon it. This is all in an attempt to reconnect with the wrecked ship in Overworld—and thus, the loop is complete.
Launching a trio of titles as the core experience for the IP had been on the horizon for years, after first raising funds in Q4 2020, according to its official roadmap. Illuvium’s games are playable on PC and Mac via the Epic Games Store.
